Welcome
Finding a painted rock is meant to inspire kindness and hope.
The idea is to spread a little piece of joy to an unknown stranger. Finding a rock is often a small gift you never knew you wanted — and it can brighten someone’s entire day.
Snap a photo of a rock you find in the neighborhood, upload it, and we’ll add it to the collection. If your photo includes GPS location data, we can also (optionally) map where it was found.
Privacy Tip: If your camera’s location services are turned on, a photo taken at home may reveal your home’s coordinates. For your privacy and accuracy, it’s best to take the photo at the spot where you found the rock.
How it works
- Enable location for your phone camera (JPEG preferred for GPS/EXIF).
- On upload, choose the street and add a short label (e.g., “Sunflower”).
- The Streets page shows what hasn’t been found yet on each street.
